Tuesday January 8th, 2013 16:41 Azealia Banks: ‘Bad Bitches Do It’

It’s a brand new year, so naturally I’d like to kick things off with a spankin’ new track from one of We Heart Pop‘s most anticipated acts of 2013: Azealia Banks! Not only does the girl have some serious disdain for PerezHilton (which instantly catapults her to the top of my list), but if the public interest she generated in 2012 is any indication, then she is sure to become THE hottest act of the year.

The 21 year old Harlem native who took the world by storm in 2012 with her viral hit, “212,” has been prepairing her major label debut, Broke With Expensive Taste for a 2013-first quarter release. Here we have the first song to be revealed from the highly aniticpated set. The track titled “BBD” (“Bad Bitches Do It”) was produced by Apple Juice Kid and Sup Doodle and is a darkly tinged urban track with many of the production nuances featured in her messy-ish mixtape FANTASEA. On “BBD” however, the plethora of stimulating scratches, wobbles, and cartoon-like accents have been presented in a manner that is far less annoying. That being said, Azealia always spits fire and this particular track’s bass line is a certified slapper.

If you’re one of the fans who happens to be a little disappointed in the offering, then don’t fret too much because, “BBD,” is nothing more than a buzz track as revealed by Azealia herself, “‘BBD’ is NOT the first official single from Broke With Expensive Taste,” she stated. “The first OFFICIAL single from Broke With Expensive Taste is called ‘MISS AMOR’ and its coming with a B side called ‘MISS CAMARADERIE‘.”

All-in-all ‘BBD’ is a decent buzz track that will keep you hungry for more!
